Consider Harvest Manitoba when planning events, field trips, or volunteering!
Opportunities are available during the daytime, evenings, and weekends at our main building (1085 Winnipeg Avenue). We can also come to you!
Here are some of the exciting, organized programs that we offer for group activities:
- Tours of our food distribution warehouse
- Activation activities that cater to all age groups
- Presentations on Harvest Manitoba and local food security issues
- Volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups, big and small
- Storytelling for younger audiences
- Booths for Resource Fairs
Our educational team can visit your daycare, school, or workplace to offer presentations. Our activities can help you meet Standard Learning Objectives (SLOs) for subjects such as Social Studies or Science. Reach out and learn how our presentations can be structured to meet the needs of your class.
Empty Bowls
Students of all ages are encouraged to join our Empty Bowls Project. Each empty bowl made represents a meal missed by Manitobans every day. Bowls are fashioned out of air-dried clay and decorated with acrylic paints; no kiln or food safe paint required! Please reach out to secure supplies and learn more about this fun, yet meaningful activity.
Food Drives
Are you planning a food drive with your school, workplace, or community? We offer educational presentations to help understand the meaning behind your food donations, and to learn about the needs of the families at the receiving end.
Community Garden or Compost Program
Grow your own food while reducing waste. Our educational team can provide information and resources to assist you in setting up your own community garden. We can also help set up localized compost programs at your school or office.
Reach out and we will be happy to find an educational program for your needs!
